The Simsbury Junior Woman’s Club performs valuable community service activities through both original programming and community partnerships. Volunteer opportunities occur at various times year-round (including weekdays and weekends) so that everyone has a chance to participate regardless of their schedule. Also, many programs are designed for children to volunteer along with the club member, which is a great way to have fun together and also introduce the value of helping others to the next generation. In March, the SJWC kicks off spring with our annual Ladybug Bash, a celebration for the whole family. Join us at the Henry James Middle School in Simsbury as we host over 100 families with a variety of crafts and games, a scavenger hunt, magicians and our giant bake sale with over 300 cupcakes!
Each fall the SJWC sponsors the annual Teddy Bear Sleepover at the Simsbury Public Library. Kids drop off their favorite stuffed friends, and SJWC members chaperone the animals as they enjoy a “wild” sleepover at the library. The SJWC chaperones record the animals’ antics for everyone to enjoy the next day at the library, along with coffee, juice and muffins.
